Ellen Digital Network, which has long been able to bring big talent to its roster of digital shows, is once again assembling a star-studded lineup for the coming year, and tapping new platforms to feature them.
The network, a joint venture between Ellen DeGeneres and Warner Bros. Digital Networks, is working on new shows from comedian Tiffany Haddish as well as weekly digital series from Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’s Ellie Kemper and Modern Family‘s Sarah Hyland, it announced today during a brief NewFronts presentation to marketers.
Kemper’s series, a weekly show called Help Me Gen Z with Ellie Kemper, will feature the actress sitting down with groups of Gen Zers to hear more about topics from their perspective. Hyland’s series, Lady Parts, will feature the actress alongside OB-GYN Dr. Sheryl A. Ross, who will talk with celebrity guests about sex, anatomy and health. Haddish’s show is untitled, and details about the series are still under wraps.
It’s not just television stars the network is working with; Ellen Digital is also teaming up with Tabitha Brown, an actress and vegan who has found an immense fan base on TikTok, on a new show. The series, All Love With Tabitha Brown, will include segments on cooking, parenting, social media and self care.
“We’re proud to partner with the IAB during these unprecedented times in 2020 to provide our clients, partners and most importantly our audience with Ellen Digital’s most expansive slate to date headlined by Tiffany Haddish, Ellie Kemper and Tabitha Brown,” Michael Riley, general manager of Ellen Digital Ventures, said in a statement about the new slate of programming. “We’re seeing new formats emerge daily and we’re excited to test, innovate and be at the forefront of digital production with all our talent.”
Ellen Digital is also working with Loni Love, a comedian, author, talk show host and newly ordained minister, on Officiate-ly In Love with Loni Love, where Love will officiate weddings with couples who have had their weddings postponed or canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. There’s a home renovation series in the works called Monica’s New Pad, starring writer and actor Monica Padman, and a virtual game night (called, appropriately, Game Night) hosted by Lauren Speed-Hamilton and Cameron Hamilton of Love Is Blind reality TV fame. Also in the works is Bretman U, an education-focused series hosted by YouTuber Bretman Rock.
Ellen Digital Ventures’ lineup is primarily focused on programming for ellentube, a short-form video platform where clips from DeGeneres’ talk show live alongside original programming and social media clips.
